Learning to be Patient and Discerning

To love as Jesus loves, and to be patient as He is patient.  This is what I am currently striving for!

When things don't go the way I would prefer, I am learning to "Let Go and Let God" as the saying goes.  He definitely has a far better way of going about things, and as His creation we are called to trust in this Way.

"But what if...?"   "It doesn't sound so great..." can often be my limited reasoning.  But is this a way to unite my will with His, or the Creator's loving plan with mine?  (I remember while in religious formation having to correct myself in personal prayer that He should be listening to me more!  Can you imagine?)

So it is in patience that I can learn to slow down in making my own conclusions, to ponder what Jesus would do, and to rise to the occasion with improved resolution with our perfect, loving God!

Lord Jesus, help me be patient, that I may discern what is Your Plan in my life, however easy or difficult the task at hand may be.  May Your Kingdom Come!

Upcoming Solemnity Reflections

As the Solemnity of Corpus Christi approaches, I am reminding myself that, when I receive Our Lord in the Eucharist, I become a living tabernacle.  So the question is, is my life Eucharistic?  Do I strive to Live Jesus, and to be self-sacrificial in my daily life?  Do I behave, react, gesture, choose, the way He did?

Also coming up is the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and I continue to realize how human, how real He is!  He has emotions, He loves, He calls out to us! How am I responding to this Love?

Lord, help me to realize Your great Love for me, and to bring Your Loving Presence to others.  Amen!
