Reflection for Sunday's First Reading

I can really appreciate this Sunday's First Reading (Zechariah 9:9-10), for the Fourteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time.  It expresses the way the Lord approaches us.  He is mighty and all-powerful, but He lowers Himself, to invite us to Him.  We may feel shame or struggle of some form in our lives, but He does not want us to doubt Him.  We are God's creation, and we are made for Him!

Do not be afraid to approach this good King.  He loves you!  He does not want to do life- and eternity- without you!  Invite Him in, and He will hasten to you.  An ever-present, ever-loving God, Who patiently awaits the invitation to be with you.
